Trump cancels signing of executive order on Artificial Intelligence regulation Reports

Washington, May 22 (Sputnik/UNI) US President Donald Trump canceled the signing ceremony of his executive order on artificial intelligence regulation, as it would reportedly slow the industry's development in the United States, ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Selina Wang reported.
"Trump just called off the signing of his AI executive order — hours before the Oval Office ceremony. The order was expected to allow the government to vet the most powerful AI models before public release. He scrapped it because he thinks it slows the US down," Wang said on X on Thursday.
Earlier in May, the New York Times newspaper reported that the US government was considering establishing oversight over new AI models.
